the drive from medellin to buga
these kids were awesome, they knew some english and wanted to show off
medellin, colombia
our first hot shower since san jose, costa rica! hot water is under-rated!! medellin is a gigantic city of 2.5 million people with typical big city problems. we didnt stay in the nicest part of the city, but we were able to take the metrocable and see the grandiosity of the city. we also put on a new rear tire, no problems finding it because the city is moto-crazy.
santa marta, colombia
after a month and a half of riding it was time to change our oil, wash and polish the bike. this was supposed to be my chore, but i decided to outsource the labor. it wasnt difficult, lol, its nice to be a girl...the chores soon turned into a street party as the local people and two police battalions gathered to see the white girl with the big bike.
Psshht... I walk away from the bike; last words from Marie ¨I am going to do this - I don´t need you¨. Later I come out to check her progress and she has every Tom with a harry lined up to change the oil; hotel guests, cops, and homeless shoeless guys. Sometimes I wish I had boobs too.
