First sight of Michoacan

michoacan mexico

the ¨sleepy coast¨
this is the stretch between puerto vallarta to zihuatanejo

other road warriors

On the road out of Puerto Vallarta we came across a New Zealander and a German who were making a similar trip as us. We rode together from Puerto Vallarta to Zihuatanejo, 500 kilometers of a single lane road twisting and turning thru the mountains overhanging the ocean. The gas stations in this stretch of quiet highway were at least 100 miles apart.
We were impressed with their bikes, and the amount of luggage they have! Mo and I together have less stuff than either one of them! Their ride is much more comfortable than ours though! Mo drives better...

pinkeye

ouch! overnight in Sayulita, Mexico just outside Puerto Vallarta I came down with pinkeye. it hurt so bad, i could hardly keep my eye open. Luckily there was a doctor right next to the farmacia 4 blocks away. I´m putting drops in my eyes for the next 5 days...

hourly motel in matzalan mexico

im glad to post some dorky pictures of Montgomery trying to be sexy. the 10 peso (less than 1 USD) was hardly worth the show. hilarious...
What... our room had a built-in over the bed mirror, deliver booze and smokes, revolving drawer for special deliveries, could be rented by the hour and a sturdy stripper pole. I was trying to get our moneys worth, and soon as Marie was done I took my turn on center stage.
P.S. I dedicate the second image to my brother Morgan ;-0
P.S.S. I just want to declare to my dad and brother that i did not have a turn on stage

on the way to matzalan mexico

Busted! I come around a corner and what do I see? Marie relieving herself... from the heat.
i was NOT doing anything other than looking at the field, with my riding pants down...he always catches my most dorky moments...

Last Night In Choix

A blurry moment during our final night in Choix
Marie is standing in the central park gazebo.

just outside of Choix, Mexico

Climbing the foothills headed to Choix we paused under the clouds, which have been rare so far in Mexico. The sun was beginning to set and the temp was falling...this was a quiet road well off the main highway.
Near Guaymas, Sonora -Mexico Marie finally gets
some relief from the heat. Her first smile in a week.
he lies, i smiled the whole time...
...my turtle body suit lools pretty cool!

the neverending Sonora Desert

OMG, the desert never ended!! Miles upon miles of nothingness coupled with the burning sun and hot air sapped all my energy. My viewing options were extremely limited, saguro cactus, dirt, mountains and the back of Montgomerys head. I was happy for this rest stop....

OMG, Marie has no juice. I thought she would last at least an hour at a time,... but nooo another dirt nap at a Pemex gas station. In her defense the road was long long long. I kept myself busy by dodging insect to helmet collisions and sun baked road-kill.

the bike in Morro Bay

Our massive load weighed down the bike too much and the license plate was crushed right as we were about to leave Morro Bay...luckily the licensing laws are looser in Mexico (ha)

2 nights in Morro Bay, CA

Oh my baby... how I miss her. Still floating, but still stinking. She has been neglected for too long; shame on me. Further tied off next to the floating junk bucket makes her look even better. Marie is seen nervously attempting a cross boat leap.

My first official deckhand duty, bringing a
hose across two boats to clean off months of bird crap.

Jason gets a smoochie

Jason is such a beauty... Jazzy J gave us a rolling
tour of Medford's finest motorcycle apparel shops.
At Kawasaki of Medford Marie finally found
body armor (robot/transformer suit) that fit her
fashion fancy. shopportunity!

Crater lake, Oregon

Marie at the exit end of Fish Lake dam.

The Great Meadow

Oooooh.. goose bumps... The Great Meadow; at the entrance to Lake Of The Woods. The picture doesn't do the scene justice. Lake County Oregon is natural splendor. Natural Bridge, Fish Lake, The Gorge, volcano remains, tall tall trees, Klamath Lake, Crater Lake, and Beckie's Resturaunt. Oregon 1... Michigan O.

As much as I wish Michigan was cooler than Oregon, boy, I'm afraid that Michigan loses.

Marie's Roof Top View

the amazing view of the golden gate bridge and marin county through a tent we set up on the roof. I'll miss this...

A snapshot of Marie unimpressed by my adventure gear style choices. I am of the opinion that the beaver(rabbit) pelt -with rakoon tail- hats are very fashion forward. As Marie's official traveling fashion consultant I am always encouraging in-vogue styles.
